We’ve already had an early look the Lunar Force 1 and now Nike’s let loose official info and images for what’s been dubbed the “Future Of The Force.” After 30 years of existence, any product can benefit from a refresher and the Air Force 1’s no different. It’s the tried and true Air Force 1 re-energized and re-engineered for a new day. The most distinctive aspect is clearly the sole, which utilizes Lunarlon cushioning in the midsole and outsole features trademark Lunarlon beveled ribs, enhancing flexibility and reducing the shoe’s weight. The the uni-body Hyperfuse upper further trims weight while slimming the model’s traditional form, specifically lessening the bulky toebox.
So they shaved off some weight (from 17.56 to 11.7 ounces), made the silhouette a little skinnier and then added in cool extras such as the reflective Swoosh as well as an internal bootie that mean a snug fit even when these are unlaced (as they rightly should be). The Lunar’s still an Air Force 1, just upgraded for the better.
The Lunar Force 1 arrives at retail on 12.12.12.
