Occasionally, certain sample flips are slick enough to outshine the actual words of the song and that’s easily the case for G-Eazy’s latest “Jack Skellington.” For a free holiday treat to fans, the New Orleans MC cleverly cut-up the maniacal Nightmare Before Christmas theme, then proceeded to underwhelmingly speak boastfully about money and hoes with his always-intricate flow, which he tries to justify by mentioning “this ain’t got no concept.”
Call me crazy, but a concept is typically a good thing, especially when the basis is so clever. But, then again, what do I know?
