It’s been months since any official word came regarding the status of Arrested Development. January 2013 was the rumored date the series would resume, but with no word of George, Michael, or George-Michael, the prospect of an actual return was starting to seem too good to be true. But wait! Creator Mitch Hurwitz has finally broken the silence to give a date for Season 4.
According to Hurwitz’ interview with USA Today, we can all mark our calendars for May of this year because Netflix plans to make all the episodes available at once, so most of us won’t be doing anything productive for a couple days. And the good news doesn’t stop there. Netflix had initially asked for a 10 episode season, but has since expanded its order to at least 13 episodes. Also, Hurwitz explained that the premise of the story “…is the family has fallen apart at the start of our show. They all went their own way, without Michael holding them together, so they’re left to their own devices, and they’re not the most successful devices.”
Again, do not seek to contact me during the month of May.
