Your wrist: the next frontier Apple is looking to conquer. Rumors of an iWatch have been circulating for some time now, but this Bloomberg report makes the talk as official as it’s ever been. Per the report:
“Apple Inc. has a team of about 100 product designers working on a wristwatch-like device that may perform some of the tasks now handled by the iPhone and iPad, two people familiar with the company’s plans said.”
Gut reaction: what the fuck do we need an iWatch for?
Five minutes later: Okay, that looks kind of cool.
Remember when the iPad came out? Everyone (myself included) agreed that a larger version of the iPhone wasn’t exactly necessary. Three versions and millions of units later, Apple is responsible for making the tablet platform a reality. The iWatch will turn out to be exactly what everyone thinks it is, but make no mistake: the more people buy it and the more I play with the device firsthand, the more I’ll start thinking to yourself, “you know what? That’d make a solid Christmas gift.”
And I bet I’m not alone.
