The iPod Shuffle – Busta Rhymes’ “Dangerous”

By / 02.01.13

Back in 1997, Busta Rhymes capitalized off the mainstream success of “Put Your Hands In The Air” by almost immediately releasing the much bouncier follow-up, “Dangerous.” If you’re too young to remember the era of shiny suits and Beanie Babies, this Flipmode joint was one of those songs that was so damn good, your entire neighborhood immediately ran out and bought the album.

Then, within a few months, everyone you knew played out this impeccably-written single with repeat listens. Then the radio rape of a certified Gold hit had set in – all of which pushed people away altogether and towards latest DMX album or No Limit soundtrack.

But, for those of you who haven’t pulled out that dusty old copy of When Disaster Strikes in years and may or may not have heard this Rashad Smith-produced future funk lately, enjoy. After all, “Too much of us is dangerous,” but limited listens after a long term absence faintly resembles hearing a golden oldie for the first time.
