Well look what the Internet unearthed now. This time 10 years ago The Diplomats were on top of the world, a young Tins was a junior in high school and crisp white tees still came in a pack four for $20. And speaking of the Dips, 2003 was a year of groundbreaking moments; one of them being their performance at said year’s Source Awards.
Thanks to Al Gore’s world wide web, their rehearsal session of the now legendary performance is here for us Dips fanatics to ogle, smile and ultimately weep uncontrollably over. Carve out about five good minutes of your work day (it’s Friday anyway) and take the time machine back when Cam, Jimmy and Juelz were three of the most promising names in rap. My, oh my, how things have changed.
You can’t tell me hearing “Dipset Anthem” and “I Really Mean It” doesn’t bring a lone tear to your eye. You just can’t.
Bonus: Ah, what the hell, let’s keep the nostalgia going with the actual performance.
