Jabari Presents: Hoodie Allen (Documentary)

By 02.26.13

The one thing I’ve personally admired most about Hoodie Allen over the years is his front-line grind. As an open book in and out of the booth, this New York rapper has hustled his way from Internet upstart to mainstream radio on his own steam and still credits most of his success to everyone else.

To thank his Hoodie Mob of followers and inspire anyone who might need some positive reinforcement in trying to achieve the above & beyond, Allen has invited director and all-around good guy Jabari Johnson to dig into his full-fledged rap life for the latest installment of Jabari Presents documentary shorts. After watching, you’ll understand where the All-American got the concept for “No Interruption,” as non-stop seems to be an understatement in this young twenty-something’s life. Regardless, the fruits of providing his own labor seem plentiful enough, which is completely evident throughout this intimate mix of the everyday and onstage versions of Hoodie – which are pretty much identical.
