Calling The Grey Album a mashup doesn’t do justice to Danger Mouse’s incredible project. The deft blend of Beatles instrumentals with The Black Album‘s bars was arguably a better piece of work than Jay-Z’s would-be swan song. And that’s not a dig at Jay’s 2003 release, because that was great in its own right. The words are simply an acknowledgement of Danger Mouse’s ability.
