I’ve been listening to Rittz for a few years now, absorbing White Jesus and his multitude of guest appearances. Take away marketing approaches, videos, trends and hooks and one fact remains: I’ve never heard a bad Rittz verse. Ever. I’m not exaggerating.
So does anyone really expect him to suddenly put out mediocre bars? Of course not. On “For Real,” he’s laying a beat out on the hibachi table and chopping it to bits, even tossing a catchy hook in there for you fans of the little onion choo choo. While the recent musical landscape has made us temper our excitement for debut albums, Rittz’s sheer force of spitfire will has me confident he’ll put together a banger come April 30th with the release of Johnny Valiant.
