Toro Y Moi, in place of a meadow or private jet, has chosen what looks to be his home region of upstate South Carolina to stage his latest video for Anything In Return‘s “Never Matter.” How do we know? Well where else could director Steve Daniels shoot the video and include hipster chicks, Chaz Bundick tunes, flea markets and plenty of glimpses of Gamecock crimson?
It’s DIY and charming and probably a little nostalgic for Bundick. But watch long enough for the surprise ending, which may or may not mean a part two to this video could follow.
Also, Los Angeles funk guru DaM-FunK slipped a “re-freak” version of “Say That” past our noses last month. So here’s that as well because of course you want to listen to DaM-FunK’s interpretation of Toro Y Moi. It’s like “meta funk” or something.
Anything In Return is out now via Carpark.
