A New York homeless man is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail after police say he snatched an iPhone from a three-year-old boy before throwing $2 at the toddler and taking off.
While his mother shopped for sneakers three feet away, the three-year-old, who was playing games on her iPhone, was approached by Feliberto Ramirez. In a confession released yesterday, the 53-year-old homeless man admitted to officers that he “f*cked up” when he took the device. “I took the phone,” Ramirez conceded. “But I offered the kid two dollars. He shook his head, said ‘yeah,’ and he handed me the phone. And I walked out of the store,” said Ramirez. Cops also confirmed that Ramirez also threw a few bucks at the toddler.
Ramirez was charged with grand larceny and pled not guilty before a Manhattan Supreme Court judge.
