Of all the rappers adapting the screwed up and slowed down sounds of “H-Town,” the last rapper we thought would hop on the bandwagon would be Dizzee Rascal. Yet, at least London’s cherished MC stayed true to the movement and got Texas all-stars Bun B and Trae to officially lay down some Lone Star state flavor. In all actuality though, the song works because A-Trak delivered a rugged and slow-burning instrumental, which sets the tone for stand-out verses from each artist, especially Dizzee and his circle-spinning flow.
Trends aside, there’s nothing to be mad about at here musically and that’s all that matters. Hopefully this is featured on Rascal’s long-awaited 5th album, which has been in the works for a few years now.
