When I hear a Chance, a Mac or any of these young whippersnapper rappers deciding to find their tune, my mind goes back to Freestyle Fellowship’s “Boundaries,” which once ruled the Rap City charts for weeks unending. Featuring Daddy-O and taken from the 1993 album Inner City Griots, recalling this song means almost instantly hearing Myka 9 vocally skittering and skatting all over the place. And remembering rappers have successfully dabbled in singing for generations now.
