Can it be that it was all so simple? Last summer, NSW quietly dropped a shoe that would blossom into a sleeper hit and classic silhouette: The Roshe Run. Inspired by Zen and meditation, it’s a shoe that is meant to be understated, functional, economically sound and, more than anything else, comfortable.
Since then, the various iterations of the Roshe Run have been everything but simple. There have been premium versions, hiking/trail versions, Flywire-clad versions, “Yeezy”-inspired versions, Woven versions, Geometric versions and so on. Clearly, the people want more Roshe and Nike is all about giving the people what they want.
Which brings us to the Roshe Run FB. This version sports a leopard print upper with neon accents that is guaranteed to break necks when it drops this summer. It’s sure to be a favorite for many and at the same time shows how far the Roshe has come since its inception. It’s safe to say that when designer Dylan Raasch put pen to paper he could never have imagined his creation evolving into a shoe this loud and brash.
Which begs the question: where next for the Roshe? Has the balloon popped? Or is Nike just getting started?
Only time will tell.
