Asher Roth’s already been through his first round of ups and downs in this thing called rap. He caught a brick with Asleep In The Bread Aisle and his once high stock dropped. Fans wrote him off and labels counted him as a tax-writeoff. Chalk it up to Rule #4080.
“I been shit upon, spit upon, dissed and forgotten, Rick Ross can be a cop?, Drake from the bottom?”
Now, he’s been back the past few weeks, ripping track after track…after track, prepping Greenhouse Effect 2. The fun thing now is Asher’s rhyming with abandon and employing the wit that got him noticed in the first place. Of his latest two joints, “Pop Radio” is proper but “Pearly Gates” is the keeper as Asher goes all autobiographical and honest about his journey. Guess losing everything does make doing what you want to do that much easier.
