With the situation (or lack there of, according to Gibbs) with Jeezy and CTE in the rear view, Freddie Gibbs is in ride or die mode, packing in his crew for the release of ESGN (Evil Seeds Grow Naturally). Set to release in July 9th, the 19-track set finds Freddie bypassing conventional methods – the labels, the red tape, radio singles, etc. – to create music meant to represent himself and Gary, IN to the fullest.
The project has a number of solid features – which can be seen above with the tracklist – including “One Eighty Seven,” a burner with Problem. it’s slow and sulking with a strong sense of anger running as an undercurrent. In other words, it’s Gibbs at his best.
All I know is I’m 100% thankful to see a track with a Big Kill feature.
