“This ain’t no funeral home… welcome to hell, muthaf*ckas!”
A haunting combination of ’90s era unintentional comedy, gangsta rap, cautionary hood stories and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s “Crossroads” video, Tales From The Hood has to be considered a classic in a very pulpy way. The movie follows three South Central drug dealers trying to pick up some product from a creepy old dude – played masterfully by Clarence Williams III – in a funeral home. Naturally, things go awry, because as Biggie Smalls once said (I think): “Never try to pick up some product from a creepy old dude in a funeral home in South Central.”
Turn off all the lights, hit play, and enjoy 90 minutes of gratuitous violence.
