With all the hype surrounding Magna Carta Holy Grail, it’s kind of hard to believe that it’s only been a week since the already-platinum album officially dropped.
Just like insiders predicted, Jay-Z’s MCHG sold over 528,000 legit copies its first week, landing the rapper his 13th #1 album. Add Samsung’s one million and MCHG is damn near double platinum in two weeks. An amazing feat for an album that had just one month of promotion and no singles.
Elsewhere on the Billboard charts, J. Cole’s Born Sinner moved an additional 39,000 copies but was bumped by Ciara’s 58,000, placing him at #3 and her at #2.
