Though 2012’s Landing on a Hundred reined in his free spirit just enough to pull his talents into sharper focus, Cody ChesnuTT remains as eclectic and colorful as ever. So it’s only right that his new video for “I’ve Been Life” manifests in much the same way.
Dubbed by ChesnuTT as an ode to the “fresh, creative energy and rising consciousness on the African continent and throughout the [African] diaspora,” the Alex Maxwell-directed clip features cultural performance group Brooklyn Jumbies clad in eye-catching traditional garb and walking stilts. Naturally, ChesnuTT’s signature helmet makes an appearance, too.
