Wale’s not taking offense to Kendrick’s “Control” verse. In fact, the DMV rhymer says he would’ve been offended if K-Dot hadn’t mentioned his name.
While stalking celebrities outside an airport on Wednesday, TMZ caught up with Mr. Folarin to ask for his thoughts on Kendrick’s lyrical homicide.
Wale also spoke with Rolling Out about the “Control” controversy. While you would expect for him to get predictably butthurt, that wasn’t at all the case. However, the rapper isn’t seeing what all the newfound fuss is about when it comes to Kendrick’s skills. Wale acknowledged K-Dot’s talent, calling him a “phenomenal” rapper who simply gave him a “f*cking great Kendrick verse” in “Control.” As for calling out rappers, Wale says he does the same thing. “I say I’m the best rapper in every song I’m on. I just don’t say nobody name. It’s implied. He just did it a different way.”
Ugh, that was the whole point, sir.
