There’s a lot to appreciate about Chanes’ production. Yet, aside from just the overall moody nature and eclectic variance of sounds, the thing that stands out most to us is what’s in the details.
Listen to any track on his latest kinda-sorta instrumental album The Fringe and you’ll hear a plethora of exotic clips like random interviews or playground ambiance – each of which are screwed up, sliced and diced or precisely buried in the mix. These sprinkles of color add another dimension to the Michigan producer’s beats and make extended plays that much easier.
