By now, Lorde’s name should’ve made its way onto everyone’s radar. Or perhaps if it hasn’t, it’s almost a safe bet that her radio hit “Royals” has. If not, click back to LC’s previous entry lauding what Lorde’s bringing in terms of sound.

The sixteen-year-old New Zealand singer’s Pure Heroine debut looks to continue the success of the single and the timing couldn’t be better since the song is perched high in the number three spot on the Billboard Hot 100. The only question left unanswered is can the album maintain her momentum?

Just like with any young artist, that’s hard to peg but she’s possesses a warm, liquid voice that’s soothing that might betray the ears to believe the singer’s older than she is. After a quick skim, the sounds – all produced by writing partner Joel Little – are youthful, electro-pop for fun listening yet hazy enough to qualify the album for long, nightime drives. At 10 tracks, Pure Heroine is a good introduction to the masses for Lorde or at least for those who haven’t dug around to find The Love Club EP, which released earlier this year. For what it’s worth, the best suggestion is to find a quiet space, sit back, press play and enjoy.
