Your Obligatory 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards Winners Post

By / 10.16.13

I can’t tell you what the f*ck happened at the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards because frankly I don’t care. Tuesday nights are reserved for Fox’s comedy block (minus Dads because Dads is a crap show).

But we’re here to talk about the BET Hip Hop Awards winners. Kendrick Lamar and Drake picked up five trinkets apiece, with Kendrick beating out the OVO rapper for Lyricist Of The Year. K-Dot also beat out Jay Z, winning Album Of The Year for good kid, m.A.A.d city. No tears for the businessman though as he picked up his own honors. The Jiggaman won Live Performer Of The Year and (fittingly) Hustler Of The Year.

Other winners include Mike WiLL Made It who took the top prize for producer of the year. And in an astonishing upset that no one saw coming like, at all, Big Sean’s ‘Detroit’ beat out Chance The Rapper’s ‘Acid Rap’ for Mixtape Of The Year. Hmm, the taste of yummy sarcasm in the morning!
