Enigmatic street artist Banksy has put up a new piece in a New York City public space each day since the beginning of his show “Better Out Than In.” When word spread that his latest piece popped up in East New York, Brooklyn, several curious and brave citizens made their way to a part of the city that hasn’t yet been buffed smooth by omnipresent Starbucks and condos.
LOL, hood niggas are blocking the Banksy piece & charging ppl to view it (from @streetartjamz) pic.twitter.com/LLkAKjPo1y

Even in the more gentrified portions of New York doesn’t suffer fools or outsiders, but rather than deface his latest work, as already happened with a couple of his previous entries, a few BK locals proved to be a bit more enterprising. It turns out that all you need for a business is the right attitude and a big enough piece of cardboard. As you can see, the art loving looky loos seemed more than willing to fork over the nominal fee, which I bet is a lot cheaper than the alternative.
Update: Even footage of BK Banksy Boyz gettin’ it how they live. Shoutout to Ariel Cherie for the eagle eye assist.
