In the immediate aftermath of Killer Kendrick’s lethal BET Cypher verse from the other day, Sway Calloway snagged ScHoolboy Q to throw in more fuel to the competitive fire. The ever savvy Quincey, however, didn’t take the bait, no matter how he disguised his questions. The Shade 45 host prodded Schoolboy to state for the record that K. Dot’s verse was directed at Drake but Q denied it over and over again in a no-it-wasn’t-but-yes-it-was kind of way.
One thing he did say though, was that even he was surprised at just how badly rappers reacted to “Control,” because everyone that was named was friends with the TDE camp. There are also some between the lines implications that some bridges were indeed burned, as Q went on to say that TDE came in game alone and plan to stay that way. “We never was friends with rappers any way.” Q tells Sway. “We’re cool with everybody, we respect everybody, but it was a rap bar. I don’t see how they took it so personal.”
And in one final, hilarious desperation move, Sway had Q call up Kendrick to ask him directly about intended dark of his shots. And though, of course, he wouldn’t admit it either, the segment did make for some heavily entertaining clips.
