There’s a consolation prize in the works for all of us who couldn’t secure of the beloved Jordan 1 OG at the end of last year. Coming soon is the Jordan 1 Mid Premium that actually means premium. The design team at Jordan Brand who came up with this format for the beloved (and sometimes overused) silhouette should get raises in 2014.
The entire upper is decked out with black suede, along with tumbled suede accents on some of the panels. A bit of new school technology makes an appearance in the use of Vac Tech for the side ankle logo, but it’s tastefully done as opposed to other Nike releases. A leather tongue label takes the place of the usual nylon, and waxed laces finish out the I-couldn’t-cop-my-grails-but-I’m-still-flourishing feel. A varsity red sole and nominal amount of contrast stitching provide just the right amount of flavor to a pretty dope shoe overall.
Sure, it may not be an original but the Jordan 1 Premium Suede is proof positive that Jordan Brand can still execute a well thought out Jordan 1 Mid that appeals to supporters of quality footwear.
