What do I remember most about being 13-years-old? The mad sprint to the cafeteria in middle school. If you were in the front of the line, the chances of getting the hottest fries rose dramatically. If you weren’t, then may the big man up above have mercy on your soul and small intestine.
For Young Marqus, he’s slightly ahead of the curve.
In fact, the looks continue to rank of the “good” variety for Marqus – which started with “Sneakerhead” alongside Wale – with the James Fauntleroy-featured and 1500 Or Nothin-produced “Just Be You.” Of the cut, young boy (or his publicist) says, “I wrote the track to encourage fans to spend this year celebrating individuality and taking pride in who they are– not who people want them to be. This is the year to look inward. You need to draw the line in the sand, focus, and just be you.”
The record itself does little for me personally. But kudos to Marqus for actually addressing a meaningful topic.
