Macklemore And Ryan Lewis Score Rap Grammys, Including “Best Rap Album” for ‘The Heist’

By / 01.26.14

Though the Grammys air tonight at 8pm EST, the Rap category winners have already been announced via their pre-show telecast because the Grammys don’t care about silly rappity rap music enough to waste its primetime hours on the genre. Walking away with “Best Rap Song,” “Best Rap Performance” and the highly coveted “Best Rap Album” golden gramophones are Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. The Hip-Hop duo beat out stiff competition from Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, Eminem and others to pick up their first Grammy trophies.

With their confirmed three wins, the Seattle duo are still up for “Album of The Year” and “Best New Artist,” where they’ll be facing off against fellow lone rapper in both categories: Kendrick Lamar.
