Nike honors the NFL’s best when they gather in Hawaii to battle for bragging rights by blessing them with the Air Trainer 1 ‘Pro Bowl’ edition.
At first glance the shoe itself might look like a Nike x Tommy Bahama x Grandma’s upholstery collaboration, but we’re feeling it. Sure, floral print (or pink, shoutout to Killa Cam) isn’t for everyone but when done in small doses can appeal to the masses. Like cocaine. Wait, what?
Taking a page out of the Nike SB Zoom Janoski, floral print makes another appearance in these shoes, which should be an obvious reference to the Pro Bowl’s island location.
The ice soles are nothing new but what changes this time around are the addition of the ice material to the topmost eyelets, as well as the forefoot strap’s d-ring. A closer look at the leather on the heel hints at the use of real deal full grain leather as well. Any time Nike uses real leather, we’re paying attention.
Just the right amount of floral print along with the use of quality materials make the Nike Air Trainer 1 ‘Pro Bowl’ an entry on our “to-cop” list for the end of January 2014. Let us know if it makes yours in the comments.
