When word came down that the Lunar2 was the next drop from Nike’s ever-growing Flyknit family, it was automatic that I had to have a pair. My friends at Finish Line threw me the alley-oop on the wolf grey colorway and I’ll go ahead and say these are on par with the first version. The slight differences from version one are what may push the Lunar2 ahead, though.
The Lunarlon creates a pillowy, cushioned ride so there are no questions there but the heel seems raised by just a hair along with extra support. The upper’s zig-zag color blocking makes them stand out from the usual look we’ve seen on Flyknits. The contour fit is on point once the laces are fully loosened then tightened to make sure there’s a snug feel where needed and a little more loose in other areas. And they squared away the previous model’s shortcomings on the tongue – it would always slide over to the side and be inside the shoe on the side of the foot – by utilizing an attached tongue.
The particulars aside, me and the homey Cakemaster aka Young Yoni aka CakeGod went out to shoot a couple of shots of the FKL2 the other day. He’s ill and his creative eye is even iller; check his Instagram for proof.
I decided to include a few fake model shots with me rocking my signature pieces – the camo five and the grey Champion sweats, cozy boy status – to show options on how rocking these can be done. Cats always send me emails and DMs with “You’d really wear those? What would wear with them? questions. For those folks, the extra pics are for you. Female readers, feel free to use the pic however you see fit.
Again, thanks to the FNL crew. Pick up the wolf grey colorway at Finish Line now but skip the blue joints because they’re wack. They’re also a colorway I need my size to last until I’m ready to pick them up next.
