Things Aren’t Looking Too Good For Kyrie Irving And The Cavs

Kyrie Irving’s rough year may unfortunately come to an end soon. Cleveland’s last beacon of basketball hope hurt his left bicep during Sunday night’s game against the Clippers. Details remain scarce beside the guard needing an MRI for a potentially season-ending injury. Yeah, such news doesn’t inspire much confidence.

“Irving, the Cavs All-Star point guard, left the game with a left biceps injury late in the first quarter, and he left the arena with his left arm in a sling. He is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday in Cleveland, but two NBA sources indicated the injury could be severe enough to end his season in the worst case scenario.

“That would be a blow to the Cavs, 26-41, clinging to their fading playoff hopes in spite of being 4.5 games behind eighth-seeded Atlanta with 15 games left, as well as to Irving, who worked extremely hard last summer in order to prevent the sorts of freak injuries that have plagued him throughout his career.”

Here’s hoping his setback doesn’t match the rumors swirling about. Kyrie’s an entertaining point guard on his day and one bad campaign shouldn’t cast doubts on his abilities. Then again shutting him down even if the ailment doesn’t sideline him long-term could be for the best.

The bottom half of the Eastern Conference playoff race looks like Whoopi Goldberg in HD. Yet Cleveland has a lottery pick and a few second round picks in this year’s draft. Their fan base ought to be tired of building through the draft rather than getting W’s. The draft doesn’t have to be Cleveland’s only path out of mediocrity, though.

Free agency’s another avenue with a number of Cavs off the books this summer. A max-contract player fits within their budget and there’s plenty of talent available. Just keep those tin foil hats off in case heads want you know who to return…yes, of course I mean Antawn Jamison.

TSS currently has an APB out on AJ ever since Kyrie Irving’s status hit the airwaves. Let’s hope the guy gets back home safe and sound.
