As we know by now, nothing’s exactly been a lock when it comes to Lil Boosie’s supposed release from prison. Weiss did say March and that was the last news we heard prior to today’s info. Unless drastic changes take place, we’re all but assured he’ll be out this year. But this latest update from an Atlantic Records rep told NOLA.com about a scheduled press conference mean our patron saint of all things holy in the hood could be out this week.
“[Boosie] should be out of prison in time for a March 10 event, according to an Atlantic Records representative. Media entities were sent invitations this week to a press conference offering interviews with the Baton Rouge rapper who is currently incarcerated on drug charges at the Louisiana State Penitentiary.
“‘He will absolutely be there,’ said Ashley Kalmanowitz, the Atlantic Records representative. ‘He’ll be speaking to the press for the first time … after his release.'”
*Sprinkles a grain of salt into each reader’s hands*
Again, things are subject to change, so keep that in mind. Also, I’m always leery of anything Atlantic Records. Why the hell a label would set a press conference and rounds of interviews for a man freshly released from prison is beyond me. Seems rather vulture-like honestly.
Still, nothing – except Angola Prison officials who might delay the process- should stop anyone from getting their “Free Boosie” tee out of the cleaners.
Update: Boosie has been released from prison as of today, March 5. Go here for the full story.
Now, let me emphasis how excited I feel…
