J. Cole “Grown Simba” At SXSW 2010

Young Simba working towards his crown.

Eightball and MJG Introduce Pill At SXSW 2009

Yeah, so Eightball and MJG definitely showed up and it was freaking awesome. The biggest takeaway I have looking back on it is how pumped Trackstar was to play the stage for them. Now, Track is a freaking celebrity and s***. Go figure.

Pill “Trap Goin’ Ham” At SXSW 2010

We all already know how big this song went on to be, but look at how there’s only a handful of people reacting to it during this performance. The one tall, lightskinned dude looks very familiar.

YelaWolf – “Pop The Trunk” At SXSW 2010

Yelawolf performed at the GOP at like 2:30 in front of a crowd that was still trickling in and he may have had the best set.

Wiz Khalifa And Curren$y At SXSW 2010

Right as both of these guys were set to peak, they were seen as a rap Cheech & Chong.

Freddie Gibbs “Slammin” At SXSW 2010

Before Gibbs gained a foothold and a fanbase, he was just Freddie. We knew how dope he was and a few people in the crowd did as well. He would come back the next year in full-blown mode where everybody knew him and he tore the stage to pieces with a backing band.
