The billing on Fool’s Gold’s Soundcloud stream describes DaVinci and Sweet Valley, a side project of Wavves frontman Nathan Williams and his brother Kynan, as an unlikely pairing, but I don’t agree with that.
If there’s one thing that the Internet has been good for, it’s taking the weird out of everything. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, something stranger shows up elsewhere on the ‘net that makes a collaboration between a San Fran rapper and some cloudy, stoner Internet beatmakers seem tame.
We’ve long enjoyed DaVinci for the authenticity that he brings to his raps, and he’s still keeping it G throughout the 32 minutes of Ghetto Cuisine. What’s even better, though, is that he’s caught Fool’s Gold’s attention, and hopefully gets the love that 100s (who also lends some of his West Coast funk to a verse on here) has received.
Stream it below before downloading Ghetto Cuisine over at Fool’s Good. Also, watch Da Vinci’s gold-infused video for “I Got That Line.”
