Glass Half Full
The Indiana Pacers fought hard to erase a 30-point deficit to the Atlanta Hawks.
Glass Half Empty
On a night where the Heat completed a first round sweep of the Bobcats, the Pacers lost 107-97 and fell to 3-2 in the series. The Pacers are now four quarters away from an 8 vs. 1 upset for the ages, despite the Hawks going blow-for-blow with Indy all season. Things have gotten so bad for the East’s top team (record wise), the mutiny has already begun in their own arena. Towards the end of the first half, the planets aligned and the frustrations of one man speaking for an entire fan base was caught on camera giving Paul George the blues.
“Hey George, why don’t you start playing some basketball and stop traveling? I guess you’re ready to go home in the first round. You ready to go home in the first round against Atlanta! You’re supposed to be an All-Star. Start playing ball and stop traveling!”
Much respect to the fan who kept it clean and, most importantly, valid. Indy is on the verge of going home against Atlanta and have looked primed and ready for an offseason’s worth of mudsligning pending Games 6 and 7 don’t fall in their favor.
To George’s credit, his 26 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and six steals exhibited some faint sense of urgency in the second half that saw Indy slash the lead to as little as nine. As for 7’2 Roy Hibbert, who has since been relegated to glorified cheerleading duties this series?
2006 playoffs everyone said Kobe had no help: Kwame Brown: 12.9 PPG, 6.6 RPG Current playoffs Roy Hibbert: 4.8 PPG, 3.4 RPG YES THAT BAD
