Big news out of the A today for us fans of Mr. Mane.
Big Brother TMZ is reporting that Gucci has struck a plea deal, so he’ll have a release date following last year’s meltdown! The bad part about it that makes me want to pour out some of my generic brand, prescribed codeine? He won’t be flooding the streets with self-released, questionably mixed and mastered music until 2016.
Gucci Mane won’t get out of jail until late 2016 — according to a plea deal the rapper just struck in exchange for copping to a gun possession charge.
Gucci pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in jail, but under Gucci’s plea deal, he’s only expected to face 39 months … minus 10 months credit for time served.
Gucci will officially be sentenced in July.
Back in March, Noisey talked to a couple of Gucci’s people, one of which said that at his peak, he was recording 13 songs a day. He went on to say that they “could drop three albums a year for the next three years and still have enough material for another three years.”
Regardless, it sounds like there’s a light on at the end of the brick road, no matter how dim it might look now.
