If Twitter ever receives the movie treatment Facebook did, the day Michael Jackson died has to be incorporated in some fashion. From the litany of rumors and reports, the magnitude of tweets worldwide discussing the topic and the reaction once Mike’s death was confirmed helped make it one of the most memorable days in Internet history.
Crazy to believe that was nearly five years ago. And in 11 days, The King of Pop’s new album, XSCAPE, moonwalks to iTunes and shelves worldwide with eight previously unreleased songs recorded between 1983 and 1999. The album’s first glimpse comes in the form of the Justin Timberlake-featured “Love Never Felt So Good,” debuted at last night’s inaugural iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The original was recorded in ’83 and produced by John McClain and Paul Anka. The 2014 update proves to be a quality remake, equipped with a catchy diddy-bop and disco, two-step feel. More importantly, “Love Never” makes for a perfect addition to your Game 7/Cinco de Mayweather weekend playlist.
