No hyperbole. Tonight is the most important game of Oklahoma City’s season. A loss on Memorial Day Eve – with or without Serge Ibaka – all but stamps the conclusion of a roller coaster regular season and postseason. No team in NBA history has ever recovered from an 0-3 hole, and doing so against this Spurs team is clinically impossible. The popular stat since Wednesday has been OKC’s 2012 West Finals series victory over the Spurs after being down in the same 0-2 deficit.
This Spurs squad looks hellbent on righting the wrongs of 2013 and Durant, Russy and company (through two games) just appear to be the victims of circumstance. So, yes, let’s ask once more. Does OKC’s season basically end tonight? Or is it the start of history repeating itself?
