Above you’ll find the long-awaited uniforms for the 2014-15 Charlotte Hornets, who have brought back the team’s color scheme from the franchise’s original 1990s and early-2000s incarnation.
The white, purple and highlighter teal are all at work here, and while the pinstripes are gone, the home, away and alternate uniforms (appearing left to right above) are sure to inspire nostalgia fits. The numbers are big and blocky, which kind of sucks, but the franchise did well not to do anything crazy here, like adding sleeves or some garish character. The side stripes are a nice touch, too, balancing out all that neon on the away and alternate jerseys.
ESPN’s Darren Rovell notes that fans can preorder the authentic uniforms starting in August, while replica orders can be placed in September. Although these pictures show the jerseys done in collaboration with Hornets owner Michael Jordan’s Jordan Brand, adidas will produce the designs.
The “Buzz” appears to be back.
