The mighty Foamposite One is clawing its way out of the grave. Market saturation, a decrease in quality and God awful prints put the Foam on the fast track to being played the hell out. For three or four releases in a row, pairs sat on shelves for months before being relegated to the sale racks, deep discounts slapped over their suggested retail prices.
Until someone got the memo. Nike went back to the drawing board and realized that less is more.
For such an advanced, wild-looking shoe, all you really need are solid colors and the occasional icy sole to be great. No feathers, maps, thermal patterns, or weird dots needed. OG colors have been put on hold for now, but I can see the Concords – officially listed as black/white/game royal – getting some love off the simplicity alone.
The all black Posite material is so close to the Blackouts that 90% of enthusiasts missed out on during restocks. Keep the white mesh tongue clean and these will get a lot of wears without looking like a cheap variant. And no Premium designation means they’re $20 off of the usual price tag. It’s almost too good to be true, but I’ll take it as a step in the right direction until the Royals release.
The Nike Foamposite One ‘Concord’ releases June 28th for $230.
