It was never a question of if, but rather when, Nike would bring back Shox technology to its basketball line. Just the appearance of the pillars on the Nike Shox TLX Mid SP brings back memories of Vince Carter dunking something serious on the point god Gary Payton. But rather than bring the BB4 back for another run, we’re blessed with a whole new shoe.
The hyper aggressive cushioning is still the biggest draw but a few modern updates include Flywire for lockdown support, a breathable shroud. The 3M reflective swoosh peeking out underneath the outer shroud is a pretty innovative design touch as well. Gives the appearance of a highly engineered shoe covered by a protective cage. No word on the weight or price, but you can bet these get my stamp of approval from a style standpoint.
The Nike Shox TLX Mid SP releases June 26th.
