Even if details are random and hard to follow, we know Kanye is working on something. And praise be to Tim Duncan, Rick Rubin is talking like a man who knows a thing or two about a thing or two.
And by “a thing or two,” I literally just mean “one aspect of the album”.
Currently, Rubin’s chatting BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe for an interview that will be released in multiple parts Monday through Thursday. The juicy details? Hard to come by just yet, other than Rubin is definitely involved in the project and he and ‘Ye have started “looking at vocal ideas.”
Remember, Kanye first mentioned his next studio album back in November, stating that he was planning on a summer release. What with that whole wedding thing, his celebrity status and his general mystique, anything else at this point is speculation. We’ll just have to trust that Yeezy doesn’t like to keep his mouth shut for too long and hope that whatever he has in store is better than Yeezus.
The Zane Lowe’s interview with Rubin will be available on the BBC iPlayer from 7pm on Monday, June 16 and broadcast in four parts beginning Monday through Thursday Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show.
