With the release date around the corner, TDE’s decided to let the world hear Ab-Soul’s These Days in its entirety. Press play to listen as the Black Lip Pastor finally takes his turn in the spotlight.
Oh yeah, Jay Rock’s next.
"Guilt-Free Listening: Ab-Soul’s ‘These Days’"
Just got real.
@J Tinsley how soon on Rock? Shit is blocked round here lol
didn’t give a date. just said “up next” lol
Oh that literal lol dope.
yo let’s gooooo!
I play that Numbers on the Board freestyle way more than the original. “Spent a thou’ on a few new drummas, Took it to them cause I knew they was comin’”
Jay Rock, we’re waiting. and please get Freddie on a track.
This is some of the best news I’ve heard all year! Been waiting on some new Rock music for way to long and his first album is still a pretty dope, yet still for whatever reason very slept on album for how great it was and still is!
Pretty sure Soulo ‘ s album dropped today tho
this leaked last week… I didn’t listen to it all the way thru, but it was ok what i heard of it. then again, i’m not the biggest TDE head so take that for what it’s worth.
Wasn’t this supposed to drop today?
This is going into heavy rotation.
Lol lemme find out his Daylyt battle’s the best track on the album..But on the real, none of Souls stuff catches me on the first listen, but this sounds like it’s gonna past the car test.
Listened to this today in the car and was so excited. I need a physical copy, so I’m glad he tweeted that, but where can I get it cause the places I usually get it from didn’t have it today…….today was the official release, right?
Amped up for Jay Rock!!!
You can pre-order the hard copies here chief
Much appreciated my man!
So far this sounds like an updated version of “Control System,” which is a good thing. The sound is consistent and feels stream of conscious like, again like “Control System.” I will bump the hell out of this.
This shit is great.
This has less lyrical content than Drake’s most superficial verses. Is there any themes on there other than weed, pussy, money(?) and the usual boasting ? Just pointing that out cuz TDE is usually the group for drake haters yet to me Schoolboy and Ab basically made 2chainz albums with a different aesthetic. Even Schoolboy said he wanted to make music like Drake, it’s obvious they’re trying.
This is pretty enjoyable musically though, thanks to melodical hooks and strong production.
And well, I’m glad Kendrick’s GQ verse is on a beat, that’s the highlight of the album.
What does this even have to do with Drake? Give the album about 4-5 spins before I render a decision… Btw this dude has been murdering his guest features. Hopefully it resonates so he can release more music. Album had almost zero publicity and not 1 radio single… I work in the Carson/Long Beach area so I hope the dude blows up… He is very talented.
Soul less lyrical than Drake? That some fuck shit if I ever heard any.
@Black Doug You sure told me bruh. Name me a single them other than pussy money weed on this album. From Time, Too Much, The Ride, Look What You’ve Done, Fear, to name a few, are much more insightful than anything on this album.
Did you even listen to Closure or Stigmata?
And PMW is not the theme, those are just things he really fucking enjoys.
Yeah maybe a line or two on Stigmata, I mean Soul was more lyrical on his Lakers feature than the whole album. Should have been more personal.
If you didn’t find his lyricism satisfying, then blame your expectations or misunderstanding of what Lyricism is.
So the question is will the physical copies be available in-stores or only online? Cause as I mentioned before I never seen nothing in Best Buy, Target or the other retail spots I usually check!
never woudl’ve thought riff raff would drop a better album than ab soul.. yet here we are
I’ve been listening since yesterday along with a bunch of other ab-soul joints that I haven’t heard. I’m not disappointed, but this is my first full venture down the ab-soul lane. Others with expectations may experience some disappointment.
Overall tho TDE is 3 for 3 on good solid albums in my book.
It’s cool, as a fan was expecting more. If the idea was to sound like whatever is hot right now he acheived that goal, however, I was buying into the idea that Ab-Soul was a unique artist with something special to offer, this makes me feel like I was wrong.
Ride Slow and WROH are great, and Hunnid Stax shows him and Q still have great chemistry, other than that, Im cool.
There’s more hate on this album that I expected. I really enjoyed the album, I see where he was going with the project, defintely a must buy in my opinion.
Starts strong, hits a lull (“Twact” and the Richard the Lion feature both suck), ends strong. On three listens it’s a solid 3.5 cigs. Good album, but Control System was better and on the TDE scale it definitely sits way behind OxyMoron and GKMC.
After that weak schoolboyQ album, this type of mediocrity was expected. they were deep and original some time ago.
