Three people were shot Thursday night, apparently wounded nearby the Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver, Colorado where a show featuring Nas, ScHoolboy Q and Flying Lotus was held.
The three victims were target while riding in a white SUV that “appeared to be a licensed limousine.” They were transported to the hospital but their condition is unknown.
The show was held partially in support for “GRASP, a gang-rescue and support project sponsored by the Metro Denver Partners,” according to the Denver Post.
“We do not believe this is a random shooting into a crowd,” Jefferson County Sheriff spokesperson Mark Techmeyer said. “We don’t know what the motive would have been for the shooter or what the connection is with the victims.”
A man at the Denver scene was seen in handcuffs talking to an officer. The SUV had significant damage to the windshield. It appeared to be a licensed limousine.”
Twitter updates from local reporters on the scene starting floating around showing ScHoolboy Q in cuffs. Early reports indicate the rapper was the only person detained in the vicinity although his involvement, if any, was never made clear. Police and media both state that no one was taken into custody. Authorities have a vague description of the shooter and reportedly are searching at this time.
