We’ve been talking about bringing New York back for the better part of a decade, and it hasn’t happened yet. I’m not sure anyone really knows what it even means anymore. Now with regionality becoming more and more blurred with every upload, it looks like it may never happen.
Enter Troy Ave. The young Brooklynite has succeeded by bottling up the “classic feel” of early 2000s NY Hip-Hop and moving it from his own corner over a decade later. On the “Your Style” remix, Ave hooks up with two of his suppliers in Puff Daddy and Ma$e, and his down south connect T.I. to recreate the vibe from the days when Bad Boy, Roc-A-Fella, and Ruff Ryders controlled radio and the dancefloors. Expect this one to ring off at cookouts and rooftop parties both inside and outside the tri-state area until it’s jacket weather again.
