Before he gave this Hip-Hop thing a spin, Chance The Rapper was a ’90s kid. As such, his memories are (probably, partially) littered with Nintendo 64 cartridges and Michael Jordan and Nickelodeon and everything else that Buzzfeed puts into those lists that won’t stop popping up in your Facebook news feed.
And, if he is the 90s product that I’m painting him to be, PBS’ Arthur had a big impact on his understanding of right vs. wrong. At the very least, it played a huge role in his set at Sasquatch Music Festival in Washington – Chance covered the song’s intro (originally performed by Ziggy Marley), to the delight of the crowd.
