If there’s one dude in hip-hop that I can trust will absolutely never sell out, there’s no doubt in my mind that it’s Spitta Andretti himself. New Orleans’ own Curren$y sat down with HotNewHipHop to talk about old school whips, the fans, Twitter and most importantly his highly anticipated Pilot Talk 3, which he expects to hit the shelves by October or November at the very latest.

The JetLife CEO let us know just what to expect in the upcoming record. “So yeah I got Wiz on the joint, Ab-Soul, Action Bronson, I’m waiting on a verse from French-that’s good though- that’s like my brother so I can speak on that one. Cool & Dre did the bulk of producing so far. We got like 30 something records right now.

“I’m not gonna double-disc it or nothing,” Spitta continued. “I’mma do like 15 and then whatever don’t make the cut-I’ve developed such a relationship with Cool & Dre to where that’s my records anyways, that we’ll find out a way to put it out.”

While both Bronsolino and French have both put out heat with Spitta before, the prospect of a joint with Ab-Soul is enticing as hell, as Soulo had hinted at a collaboration with Curren$y back in June, that many expected to appear on These Days…. I’m foreseeing something laid back and cool here like “Moscato” from Longterm Mentality” – where Soul can calmly spazz out like we’re so used to him doing, and Spitta can just keep it G.

Pilot Talk 3 is no doubt one of my most anticipated projects for 2014 as Curren$y has proved time and time again that he is the benchmark for consistency and simply keeping it 100. Though most of his catalog has been entirely free, his Pilot Talk series comes at a price, but he’s not asking you to break the bank or anything. At this point, with all his free material he’s given us, I’d say we owe Curren$y the $9.99 but that’s just me. When asked why so many people put on for Curren$y the man himself responded, “You know what? I think its cause there’s so much free music. The thing is, I do it for free, so I don’t have to compromise what I do.”

“I know the radio is like, ‘give us something like this’,” he continued, “and I’m like ‘I don’t really want to do this’ I’ve done this so long, till people respect me for not putting on a different hat to get in the club. You know what I’m sayin? I just waited til they accepted me with my basketball shorts and a t-shirt to get in the club. That’s legit, I stayed the same way.”

Hard to argue with that. Check the whole interview below.
