For those looking for girl-on-girl beef, they’ll have to look somewhere else besides in the direction of Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea. After Minaj’s “no shade” speech at the BET Awards, most people figured she was directing shots at Iggy Azalea with the implication being the Grand Hustle rapper doesn’t matter since she doesn’t write her own rhymes.

Today on Twitter, Nicki took to her Twitter to first say that the media was putting words in her mouth in an effort to cook up beef. Instead, the Young Money MC said her goal was to encourage more women to “aspire for more” and write for themselves and other women. She also stated Azalea should be proud of her accomplishments and states she’s congratulated the Australian femcee on her success.

For Azalea’s part, she states she’s tried to rise above the fuss but the “explosion of pettiness online” finally caused her to speak out and it would be the only time she would “ever going to refer to this again.” Using her Instagram, she says that not winning the BET award for “Best Female Hip Hop Artist” was simply a matter of this year not being her year. She’s “unbothered” and advises others to adopt her philosophy of positivity.

“I have to say the general explosion of pettiness online in the last few days is hard to ignore and honestly…lame.

“If I had won the BET award that would’ve been great but it wasn’t my year and I don’t mind – so you shouldn’t either.

“Generally speaking I’m unbothered [sic] by anything that “happened” at the BET awards and just feel worn out by everyone trying to make me have wars with people all the time.

“Anyone who wishes me well is welcome in my life and those who don’t can’t get any more of my time. I hate to see everyone exhausting themselves on my behalf over things that I’m still not 100% sure even exist and don’t matter. Just let it go.”

And there it is.

At this point, neither lady will be taking part in the foolishness. Now, all they have to do is convince their Barbz and Azaleans to stop their e-beefing the whole non-issue will die down. That will probably last until Nicki’s The Pink Print drops and someone digs up a line and labels it a subliminal. Then we’ll be right back here again.
