“Bitches that we came with got all of your bitches jealous…”
The Weekend’s been quiet for most of 2014 but all of that’s set to change with a tour slated to kick off on mid-September. To set the tone, “King Of Fall” is a freebie for the fans and the tune is in full-celebratory mode, word to XO’ing until everybody overdoses. Abel coos about pulling chicks with ease (“Bring your girl to my show, give her floor seats, Then she go downtown like she owe me”) while flaunting successes and accomplishments. And somewhere in there, I sense some barbs being sent in the direction of an anonymous someone or someones.
“Shout my n**** Doc, that’s a mentor
Had some bad business, nothing personal
But now the word out that we back on
Some young Quincy Jones, dark-skin Michael Jackson
And these the motherf*****s that they packaged
Their new sh*t all be sounding like my past sh*t”
Who said high-pitched cats was scared to get it poppin’?
Beginning September 19, The Weekend sets off on a four-city tour that will stop in Brooklyn, Toronto, L.A., and San Francisco with ScHoolboy Q and Jhene Aiko. For tickets and additional info, click here. Just make sure not to take your girl.
