Fredo Santana Transitions From Trapper To Rapper On ‘Walking Legend’ Mixtape

Walking Legend is a wonderfully appropriate name for Fredo Santana’s latest project. Lil Reese cemented his place in pop culture by ominously declaring “Fredo in the cut, now that’s a scary sight” in perhaps Chief Keef’s most well-known song. To further support that, Drake had him star as one of the villains in his video.

On Walking Legend, though, Fredo’s starting to sound more like a rapper than a trapper trying to rap when he’s not selling bricks. Honestly, I haven’t been able to make it through an entire project of his prior to this. Sure, there are some palm-to-face inducing instances, like on “Check Came In” when he says “The check came in, the young n*gga flexin, I could’ve bought a house, but I bought some weapons (I did!)” Or, there’s his hook of “My Wrist,” that includes “Thank God for my wrist, I can f*ck your b*tch!” On the whole though, it’s an enjoyable listen.

Stream Fredo In The Cut’s latest below, and download Walking Legend here. Also, he just released the video for “All I Ever Wanted,” featuring Lil Durk, so feast on that as well.
